Speak to General Bentnoze or Wartface in Goblin Village

In the RuneScape game, Goblin Diplomacy is the 15th quest. During the quest, the player must resolve a dispute among the goblins of Goblin Village to prevent a civil war. The dispute is between two goblin generals, General Bentnoze and General Wartface, who are arguing about which colour armour is best. The player must speak to either of the generals in their hut on the north side of the Goblin Village, which is located north of Falador and east of Taverley.

General Bentnoze is one of the Goblin generals who has a liking for the colour red. He is very rarely seen without his rival and co-general, General Wartface, with whom he consistently argues. Bentnoze's favoured sergeant is Sergeant Mossfists.

General Wartface is also one of the Goblin Generals, but he prefers the colour green. Like Bentnoze, he is rarely seen without his rival. Wartface's favoured sergeant is Sergeant Slimetoes.

The player must ask the generals if they can help them decide on a colour other than red or green, and the generals will accept. The player will then need to find three sets of Goblin mail and various dyes to create the desired armour colour for the generals. The player can obtain the Goblin mail by searching crates in the Goblin Village or by killing goblins. The dyes can be obtained by purchasing or picking the necessary items and bringing them to Aggie the Witch in Draynor Village, who will make the dyes for 5 gp each.

Collect the required items

To start the quest, you will need to collect the following items:

  • Goblin mails: You will need three sets of goblin mail. These can be obtained during the quest by searching crates in the Goblin Village. The crates are located behind the generals' hut, inside the western hut between the small square hut and the generals' hut, and up a ladder near the village gate. Alternatively, goblin mail can be obtained as a drop from killing goblins in the Goblin Village.
  • Dyes: You will need to create three dyes—blue, yellow, and red. The blue dye can be made using two woad leaves and five coins, which can be purchased from Aggie. The yellow dye can be made using two onions and five coins, and the red dye can be made using three redberries and five coins. The onions can be picked from a field north of Rimmington or from Farmer Fred's farm in Lumbridge. The redberries can be purchased from Wydin's Food Store in Port Sarim or picked west of Varrock's southeast mine.
  • Coins: You will need about 15-20 coins to purchase the woad leaves from Wyson the gardener in Falador Park and to pay Aggie for making the dyes.

It is important to note that you can also buy the orange dye (made from red and yellow dye) and blue dye from the Grand Exchange to skip some steps and make the quest shorter.

Make the dyes

To make the dyes required for the quest, you will need to gather some items. You can obtain two Woad leaves from Wyson the gardener in Falador Park by offering him 20 coins. Alternatively, you can skip this step if you already have a blue dye.

Next, you will need two onions for the yellow dye. These can be picked from the field just north of Rimmington or from Farmer Fred's farm in Lumbridge, which is next to the sheep paddock.

You will also need three redberries for the red dye. These can be purchased from Wydin's Food Store in Port Sarim for 3 coins each, or you can pick them from the redberry bush west of Varrock's southeast mine.

Once you have all the ingredients, head to Draynor Village and find Aggie the Witch. Ask her to make you blue, yellow, and red dyes from the items you've gathered. Each dye will cost 5 gp to make.

Finally, mix the red and yellow dyes together to create the orange dye. Now you have all the dyes you need for the Goblin Diplomacy quest!

Find the goblin mail

To find the goblin mail in the Goblin Diplomacy quest, you need to search for crates in the Goblin Village. The goblin mail can be found in three different crates located around the village. Here are the specific locations to find these crates:

  • Behind the generals' hut, in a crate.
  • Inside the western hut, between the small square hut and the generals' hut.
  • Up a ladder near the gate to the goblin village, where you will find some crates. Search these crates to find a brown goblin mail.

Alternatively, goblin mail can also be obtained as a drop from killing goblins in the Goblin Village. The goblins will drop red or green goblin mails, which can be dyed. However, you will need one uncoloured goblin mail from a standard goblin.

Return to the generals

To return to the generals, make your way back to the Goblin Village. Here, you will find General Bentnoze and General Wartface in their hut on the north side of the village.

Once you have found the generals, tell them that you have the orange goblin mail. A cutscene will occur, in which Grubfoot tries on the orange armour. The generals will not be pleased with the colour and will ask you to try blue instead.

Tell the generals that you have the blue goblin mail. Another cutscene will occur, in which Grubfoot tries on the blue armour. Again, the generals will be dissatisfied and will ask you to get brown.

Give the generals the remaining brown goblin mail. Speak to them, and a cutscene will occur in which they are happy with the results. They agree that brown is the best colour and will reward you for your help.

Congratulations, you have completed the quest!
