Warband's Current Diplomacy: What's The Version?

which version of diplomacy is current warband

Diplomacy is a popular mod for Mount & Blade: Warband. The last update to the mod by its original creator was in 2012, which means attempting to load a save from the current native version (1.174 as of November 2022) will result in a crash. Diplomacy 4.Litdum

One of the key features of Diplomacy 4.Litdum is, as the name suggests, enhanced diplomacy options. This includes improvements to cultural differences, sending gifts or caravans, and relations with lords. The mod also introduces diplomatic employees, such as the chancellor, constable, and chamberlain, whose roles differ based on the player's faction or culture.

Another notable aspect of Diplomacy 4.Litdum is the ability to turn off changing factions, defection, and exile for vassals. Players can also enable or disable lords changing cultures, allowing them to recruit troops based on their new kingdom's culture after defection. The mod includes new combat animations, such as attack and defence moves, and camels frightening horses (except for chargers and Sarranid horses).

It's worth noting that Diplomacy 4.Litdum Reloaded is a standalone version of the mod, released in 2021. This version includes balance changes to mechanics, items, troops, and AI, ensuring that players face the right challenges at the right time.

Dickplomacy Reloaded

One of the key features of Dickplomacy Reloaded is its ability to provide a unique gaming experience without altering the core mechanics of the original game. This is in contrast to other mods, such as "Floris Evolved," which make significant changes to the native units and AI of Mount & Blade: Warband.

The installation process for Dickplomacy Reloaded involves placing the mod files in specific folders within the game directory. Some users have noted that they needed to re-download certain mod files and create a proper mb_warband.exe file for Steam to get the mod working correctly.

Manual install

The current version of Diplomacy for Mount & Blade: Warband is 4.2 for Warband 1.143. However, as of November 2022, the latest native version is 1.174, which will not work with the Diplomacy mod. Thankfully, a user has updated the mod to work with recent saves, and this updated version can be found on the Steam Workshop, with a Dropbox link also available for a manual install.

To manually install the Diplomacy mod, first, download the files from the Dropbox link provided. Then, make a copy of Modules\Native and name it "Diplomacy". Alternatively, you can use the folder that Steam installs modules to: Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\48700\285119009. Next, extract the files from the Dropbox link into the folder and restart the game launcher.

If you want to copy over savegames from Native, simply copy over savegames from Native to the Diplomacy folder (or create it if it does not exist yet). Warband's savegame structure is one folder per module under Documents\Mount&Blade Warband Savegames\.

For DirectX7 to be available for the mod, extract the relevant file into the Mount&Blade Warband/Modules/Diplomacy 4.litdum folder. If the text is not readable in your game, extract the relevant folders into the Mount&Blade Warband/Modules/Diplomacy folder. If you want to return attack and defence animations to the Native ones, extract this file into the Mount&Blade Warband/Modules/Diplomacy 4.litdum folder.
