Red, yellow, and blue dyes

To obtain the red, yellow, and blue dyes needed for the Goblin Diplomacy quest, you must gather the required items and visit Aggie the witch in Draynor Village. Aggie will assist you in creating the dyes for a small fee.

For the red dye, you will need three redberries. These can be purchased from Wydin's Food Store in Port Sarim for 3 coins each, or you can pick them yourself west of Varrock's southeast mine.

As for the yellow dye, you will require two onions and five coins. Onions can be easily found in the field north of Rimmington or in Lumbridge, in the backyard of Farmer Fred's farm, next to the sheep paddock.

To create the blue dye, you will need two woad leaves and five coins. Woad leaves can be purchased from Wyson the head gardener in Falador Park. If you offer him 20 coins, he will generously give you two leaves. Alternatively, you can purchase one leaf for 15 coins.

Once you have gathered all the necessary items, bring them to Aggie in Draynor Village. She will use her expertise to create the red, yellow, and blue dyes for you. Remember to combine the red and yellow dyes to create the orange dye required for the quest.

The Goblin Diplomacy quest involves helping the goblins of Goblin Village resolve a dispute over armour colour. By providing them with different dye options, you can prevent a potential civil war within the goblin community and guide them back to their original brown armour colour.

Woad leaves and redberries

Woad leaves are used to make blue dye, which is used to dye goblin mail in the Goblin Diplomacy quest. You can obtain woad leaves by purchasing them from Wyson the gardener in Falador Park, who will give you two leaves for 20 coins. Alternatively, you can grow your own woad leaves by planting woad seeds in a flower patch at level 25 Farming.

Redberries, on the other hand, are used to make red dye, which is combined with yellow dye to make orange dye for goblin mail in the Goblin Diplomacy quest. You can purchase three redberries from Wydin's Food Store in Port Sarim for 3 coins each, or pick them west of Varrock's southeast mine.

To make blue dye, you will need two woad leaves and five coins, which you can bring to Aggie in Draynor Village. The blue dye is then used to dye one goblin mail blue.

To make orange dye, you will need to combine red dye and yellow dye. For red dye, you will need three redberries and five coins, and for yellow dye, you will need two onions and five coins. Take these items to Aggie in Draynor Village, and she will help you create the orange dye. The orange dye is then used to dye one goblin mail orange.

Brown, orange, and blue goblin mail

To obtain the brown, orange, and blue goblin mail required for the Goblin Diplomacy quest, players must gather the necessary items and dyes to create these coloured armours. Here is a step-by-step guide:

Obtaining Goblin Mail:

Firstly, players need to acquire three sets of goblin mail. These can be obtained in several ways:

  • Killing Goblins: Goblin mail can be obtained as a drop from defeating goblins.
  • Crates in Goblin Village: Alternatively, there are three goblin mail suits located in crates around the village. These can be found behind the generals' hut, inside the western hut between the small square hut and the generals' hut, and up a ladder near the entrance or gate to the goblin village.

Creating Dyes:

The goblin mail can then be dyed to create the desired colours. Players will need to create orange and blue dyes using the following methods:

  • Orange Dye: To make orange dye, players must first obtain red and yellow dyes. Red dye can be crafted using three redberries and five coins. For the yellow dye, players will need two onions and five coins. These dyes can then be combined to create orange dye.
  • Blue Dye: For blue dye, players require two woad leaves and five coins. Wyson the head gardener in Falador Park will sell these leaves. Offer him 20 coins, and he will give you two leaves.

Dyeing Goblin Mail:

Once the dyes are acquired, players can dye their goblin mail:

  • Orange Goblin Mail: Use the orange dye on one set of goblin mail.
  • Blue Goblin Mail: Use the blue dye on the second set of goblin mail.
  • Brown Goblin Mail: Leave the third set of goblin mail in its original colour, which is brown.

With these three sets of goblin mail, players can now proceed with the Goblin Diplomacy quest and assist the goblins in their colour dispute.

Aggie the witch in Draynor Village

To create the dyes, players must first obtain the correct supplies. For orange dye, players need red dye and yellow dye. Red dye can be made using three redberries and five coins. Yellow dye can be obtained by giving Aggie two onions and five coins. If players already have the red and yellow dye, they can combine them to make orange dye by mixing them in their inventory.

For blue dye, players need two woad leaves and five coins. They can obtain the woad leaves from Wyson in Falador Park. If players give Aggie the woad leaves and coins, she will make the blue dye for them.

Aggie also provides players with information about the quest. She tells players that they need two woad leaves to make blue dye and directs them to Wyson, who is located in Falador Park.

By seeking out Aggie the witch in Draynor Village, players can obtain the necessary dyes and information to progress in the Goblin Diplomacy quest and help bring peace to the Goblin Village.

Goblin generals Bentnoze and Wartface

General Bentnoze and his co-general Wartface are the leaders of the Goblin Village. They became leaders less than 10 years before the events of Recipe for Disaster, taking over after the previous leader died during a game of "pin the tail on the basilisk". Bentnoze and Wartface are rarely seen apart from each other, but they are constantly arguing—about everything from armour colours to what to eat. Despite this, the two are notably peaceful and rarely fight other races.

During the events of Goblin Diplomacy, Bentnoze and Wartface are on the brink of war with each other over what colour of armour the goblins should wear for the new century. Bentnoze wants red, and Wartface wants green. As a result, the goblin race is divided, and civil war looms. An adventurer stumbles upon the village and offers to help the generals decide, suggesting they consider a different colour entirely. The adventurer then helps Bentnoze and Wartface obtain and dye goblin mail in orange, blue, and brown. Eventually, the goblins decide to revert to their original colour, brown.

In Recipe for Disaster, Bentnoze and Wartface are found in the Lumbridge Castle dining room, bickering over food. The adventurer from Goblin Diplomacy returns and helps them by bringing ingredients to the goblin cook Mudknuckles, who is attempting to make a recipe he overheard two dwarves discussing. The resulting dish is called the Slop of Compromise.

Bentnoze and Wartface are also present during the 2010 Christmas event, arguing over the correct colour of the Christmas tree fire and the seals.

Frequently asked questions

The aim is to help the goblins decide which colour they will wear to prevent a civil war.

You don't need any items to start the quest.

You can find 3 goblin mails in crates in the Goblin Village or by killing goblins. You can make orange dye by combining red dye (made from 3 redberries and 5 coins) with yellow dye (made from 2 onions and 5 coins). You can make blue dye with 2 woad leaves and 5 coins. Alternatively, you can buy orange and blue dye from the Grand Exchange.

Dye one goblin mail orange, one blue, and leave the last one unaltered. Go back to the Goblin Village and give the orange goblin mail to General Bentnoze or General Wartface. They will ask Grubfoot to try it on but will not like it and will ask for blue armour instead. Give them the blue goblin mail. They will again ask Grubfoot to try it on but will not be satisfied and will ask for brown. Give them the plain brown goblin mail. They will decide that brown is best after all and the quest will be complete.
